Tonic exists to bring together gay, bi, and trans men, as well as queer and nonbinary people, who are looking for connection in spaces where alcohol and drugs aren’t the focus.
Whether you’re sober, sober curious, choosing to drink less, or have never drunk at all, you’re warmly welcome here.

What drives us
Our Mission
Our mission is to create vibrant, joyful, and inclusive spaces where community comes first. We know that life without alcohol can feel refreshing and liberating, but we also know it can feel isolating, especially in a culture where drinking often dominates social life.
True to our name, we’re a tonic for this: a refreshing space to connect, celebrate, and belong without pressure to drink or use.
Many of us have faced unique challenges around substance use, while others simply want to enjoy more meaningful, alcohol free moments. Whatever your reasons, Tonic offers an open and non judgemental space for you to thrive.
Through regular in-person events and an active online community, Tonic helps people feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger, no matter where you are on your journey and no matter your relationship with alcohol.
Everything we do is built around
3 simple ideas

Building a Community
Join us in creating a vibrant network where connection, support, and shared experiences empower us to thrive. Whether you’re in recovery, choosing to drink less, or simply seeking alcohol free spaces, you’re welcome here.

Celebrating Joyful Living
We celebrate milestones of all kinds, find joy in everyday moments, and show that a fun, fulfilling life is not only possible without alcohol, it can be even better.

Helping Beat Loneliness
Discover meaningful connections and community, as we come together to overcome loneliness and support each other in leading rich, connected lives.

Tonic began with a small group of sober friends seeking a place to connect and thrive beyond the influence of alcohol or substances. Today, Tonic has grown into a vibrant network of over 200 people. We welcome everyone on a sober, sober-curious, or mindful drinking path—including trans men, queer boys, gender fluid and nonbinary people, and anyone who identifies with gay male culture.
No matter your reason for choosing alcohol-free spaces, you’ll find a warm, welcoming community at Tonic.
There’s something for everyone and I’m so grateful to Tonic! for showing me that sobriety is definitely not boring.
